AbstractIn this paper, we establish a new linking theorem without (PS)-type assumption. The new theorem produces bounded (PS) sequences. The abstract result will be used to study the existence of nontrivial (positive) solutions to the elliptic system Deltau = u, Deltav = v in Omega with nonlinear boundary condition partial derivativeu/partial derivativen = G(v), partial derivativev/partial derivativen = G(u) on partial derivativeOmega, where Omega is a bounded domain of R-N with smooth boundary, partial derivative/partial derivativen is the outer normal derivative. We consider "weak" superlinear and asymptotically linear cases. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
