摘要	In this paper, the modified KdV equation, u(t) + u(2)u(x) + u(xxx) which exhibits compactons: sofitons with compact support, is investigated. New solitary solutions with compact support are developed by using the decomposition method and symbolic computation system, Maple. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
