摘要	In this Letter, a new loop algebra 6 is first constructed from which a new isospectral problem is established. It follows that integrable couplings of the well-known BPT hierarchy are obtained. This method can be used generally. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
